För att fira att detta blogginlägg blir vårt 50:e, så vi skulle vilja dela med oss av olika saker vi vill tipsa om, samt reflektioner över vår resa och planer för framtiden. Det första vi vill göra är att tipsa om bloggen “den andra resan” som vi även har lagt in som länk under intressanta bloggar här i högerspalten. Vi fick kontakt med Caroline (som driver bloggen) via facebookgruppen Bitcoin Sverige och bloggen handlar om en expat-familjs vardag med småbarn på resande fot och som i skrivande stund befinner sig på Bali (expat är en förkortning och betyder att personen/personerna ifråga frivilligt lämnat sitt hemland permanent eller på obestämd tid). Denna blogg är mycket intressant för oss då vi tänker i samma banor som dem och dessa tankar är en anledning till att vi gör vår resa! För inte alltför länge sedan bestämde vi att vi i framtiden skulle vilja skaffa barn och vi är båda eniga om att den svenska skolan, den obligatoriska skolplikten och det svenska politiska landskapet inte är ett bra alternativ för oss att uppfostra några barn i. Skolplikten betyder att barnet måste närvara i den statligt reglerade skolan under den enda statliga läraoplanen, men lägger ingen som helst vikt vid att barnet ska lära sig något (tillskillnad mot till exempel Finland som har läroplikt och sedan hur barnet lär sig är irrelevant). Vi är bland annat öppna för att kunna hemskola på heltid eller deltid och ta in hjälp utifrån när det behövs, men detta är olagligt i Sverige sedan 2010 och skickar du inte iväg barnen till indoktrineringsinstitutet (svenska skolan) så tar staten fram sina tvångsmedel och kan helt sonika ta barnen ifrån dig och din familj blir ett fall för socialen. Detta händer i Sverige idag och om man är intresserad att veta mer så kommer en länk till en föreläsning av Jonas Himmelstrand som emigrerat till Åland för att kunna hemskola sina barn (här är en länk till en föreläsning av Jonas som vi närvarade vid). Han är ordförande för Riksorganisationen för Hemundervisning i Sverige (ROHUS) som arbetar för att FN:s deklaration av de mänskliga rättigheterna när det gäller föräldrarnas rätt att välja utbildning för sina barn, efterlevs av beslutsfattare och myndigheter i Sverige.

Vi ogillar även det kraftiga statliga tvånget i Sverige och de höga skatterna som stjäls (ja, är det inte frivilligt så är det stulna pengar) och famlas bort i sann byråkratisk anda och på bästa sändningstid långt innan du som individ får se skymten av dem och de som drabbas värst är alltid de fattigaste i samhället eftersom de har minst ekonomiska resurser och inflytande för att påverka makthavarna! Det jobbiga med Sverige är att se hur mycket man får lov att trampa på de svagaste i samhället bara för att man kommer med goda (men orealistiska) intentioner, och där dessa personer (eller grupper) i maktpositioner i samhället glömmer bort att vi är alla unika individer. Tyvärr kan man inte komma undan statligt tvång (idag), men om man lever som en nomad så kan man iallafall minska det och det är det som vi hoppas kunna göra! Alternativet är att hitta en plats som känns friare och sedan prova att bo där eller växla boendet mellan vissa länder.

Så man kan säga att vi gör detta både får oss själva och för våra framtida barn, så därför är det extra roligt att läsa om andra människors resa som redan gjort detta! Vi tycker att det ska bli väldigt kul att åka till Bali för att träffa dem och andra expats! Tydligen finns det en ganska stor bitcoin/expat community i Ubud (Bali) som verkar väldigt intressant och det vore roligt att träffa människorna där!

En annan sak som vi vill tipsa om och som anknyter till föregående stycke är att intrången i våra privatliv är väldigt stora och ökande där olika företag och stater kartlägger både egna och andra länders invånare in i minsta detalj och avlyssnar alla kommunikationer. Det bästa sättet att skydda sig är att kryptera alla kommunikationer så att endast avsändare och mottagare kan se informationen. Både Ulrika och Pontus har börjat använda ett plugin till webbläsaren (mailvelope) som gör det väldigt enkelt att kryptera både mail och andra texter så att varken stater, google eller facebook ska kunna läsa vad vi skriver. Vi gillar att få krypterade meddelanden så här kan du hitta Ulrikas publika nyckel och här Pontus publika nyckel så ni kan kryptera meddelanden till oss med valfritt program som stödjer PGP (Pretty Good Privacy).

To celebrate that this will be our 50th blog post, we would like to share some recommendations to our readers and some reflections on our trip and plans for the future. The first thing we want to do is recommend the blog “the second trip” (in Swedish) we have also added this blog as a link under interesting blogs in the right panel of the blog. We got in touch with Caroline (who runs the blog) via the facebook group Bitcoin Sweden. The blog is about an expat family living and travelling with young children (an expat is a person who have voluntarily left their country for an indefinite period or permanently). Caroline’s blog is very interesting for us because our thoughts about our future is in line with Carolines and her family’s present journey and these thoughts is one reason that we do our trip! Not too long ago, we decided that in the future we would like to have children and one thing we both agree on is that the Swedish compulsory school system, and the political landscape is not an good option for us to race any children. The compulsory schooling means that the child must attend the state-controlled school under the one and only state curriculum, while no weight is put on the child actually learning something (as opposed to, for example, Finland that has an obligation that the children learn, but how they do it is irrelevant). We are open to homeschool full time or part time and take in outside help when needed, but this is illegal in Sweden since 2010 and if you do not send away the children to the indoctrination institute (the Swedish school) the state will use it’s coercive force and can simply take the children away from you and the family becomes a case for the social services. This is happening in Sweden today and if you are interested to know more, here is a link to a lecture by Jonas Himmelstrand (in swedish) who emigrated with his family to Åland to homeschool their children. Jonas is president of the National Organization for homeschooling in Sweden (ROHUS, in swedish) that works to implement the UN Declaration of Human Rights regarding the right of parents to choose education for their children and make this recogniced by the decision-makers and authorities in Sweden.

We also very much dislike the heavy state compulsion in Sweden and the high taxes that are stolen (yes, it is not optional, so taxation is theft) and which are recklessly spent in a true bureaucratic spirit long before you as an individual get a glimpse of them and those who suffer the worst are always the poorest in society because they have the least financial resources and leverage to influence those in power! The hard part about Sweden is to see how much you are allowed to tread on the weakest in society just because it comes with good (but unrealistic) intentions, and where these people (or groups) in positions of power in society forgets that we are all unique individuals. Unfortunately, one can not escape state coercion (today), but if you live like a nomad, you can at least reduce it and that is what we hope to do! The alternative is to find a place that feels freer and then try to stay there or switch homes between certain countries.

So you could say that we do this both for ourselves and our future children, so it is really interesting and extra fun for us to read about other people’s journeys who are already in the progress of doing this! Caroline and her family are currently in Bali and we look forward to going there to meet them and other expats! Apparently there is a fairly large bitcoin / expat community in Ubud (Bali) which seems very interesting and it would be fun to meet these people!

Another thing that we want to bring up in relation to the previous subjects is that the incursions into our private lives are very large and increasing, where different companies and states collect huge amounts of information on both their own and other countries citizens and intercept all communications. The best way to protect yourself is to encrypt all communications so that only the sender and the recipient can see the information. Both Ulrika and Pontus have begun using a plugin for the browser (mailvelope) which makes it very easy to encrypt both mail and other documents so that neither States, Google or Facebook will be able to read your communications. We like to get encrypted messages so you can find Ulrika’s public key here and Pontus public key here and you can encrypt messages to us with any application that supports the PGP (Pretty Good Privacy).
